Adipurush Controversy: Director Om Raut says that even in Ramanand's Ramayana, if one arrow used to come out, then 10 arrows used to come out of it. He told why he gave such a look to Saif Ali Khan who became Ravana.
There was tremendous hype after the announcement of Om Raut's film Adipurush. After the release of the teaser of the movie, it is being trolled fiercely. Many people are also opposing the film. While the VFX of the film has received negative feedback, Saif Ali Khan's look in the role of Ravana is also being disliked. Director Om Raut had said in the past that he is saddened by the audience's response. Now he has said in another interview that there were many experiments in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana too. He also talked about Ravana's look.
I believe in Ram a lot, history was not disturbed
Om Raut is hearing many negative things related to Adi Purush. In a conversation with Aaj Tak, he said, I believe in Lord Ram a lot. I didn't do anything wrong in the film. We have not tampered with history. I consider this history as my proud history. When I saw Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana on Doordarshan, it affected me a lot. Om Raut said that even that version of Ramayana had modern technology, which impressed the audience. Om said, one arrow used to shoot 10 arrows, then 100 arrows came out from it. We had never seen this before. We didn't know about this. It was very popular at that time.
Our Ravan is the demon of today's time
On the look of Ravana in the film, Om Raut said, Ravana is a demon. He was merciless so he was given a mustache look. He was shown as a demon of that time. It was his way of portraying it. Our Ravan is the demon of today's time. In my view, a monster might even look like this. When Om was asked why people are criticizing the teaser so much, will he make any changes in the film? To this he replied, We need everyone's blessings. Because it's not a film, we're not treating it like a film, that's our mission. It is a symbol of our devotion. Whatever people are saying, they are our elders, we are all taking notes. The film is releasing in January, you will not be disappointed when you watch it.
